I am an artist born and based in the UK but both my parents came from former Yugoslavia, this is an important influence on my work. The folklore and colour have woven their way into my painting.
I studied painting at the Royal Academy of Art. My postgraduate experience at the RA was amazing. I learnt a lot from professors, artists and contemporaries. Being on the doorstep of so many galleries and museums notably the The Museum of Mankind then literally on the doorstep of the Academy was both enriching and informative. I now live and work close to Cambridge, where I studied foundation, where my love for painting was born, close to Kettles Yard Museum and Jim Ede's house where works by Joan Miró, Ben Nicholson, and Alfred Wallis hang informally but thoughtfully placed. There many artists close to my heart, Ilija Bosilj Frida Kahlo and Rose Wylie among a few.
Moving now into 2019 I am feeling recently inspired by my visits to Grand Palais in Paris to the Miro exhibition and Basquiat at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
I will be showing at the Cambridge Open Studios 2019 this year.
